The licence agreement for Parlando, and how refunds work.
The plain version: buy once, use Parlando on up to 3 Macs you use yourself, get every 1.x update, and ask for your money back within 14 days if it isn’t for you.
1. Who these terms are between
This licence agreement is between you and the publisher named on the imprint (“we”). It covers Parlando: Voice to Text for macOS (“Parlando”), including the parlando command line tool and MCP server inside it. By installing or using Parlando you accept these terms.
2. Trial
You can use every feature of Parlando free for 14 days from first launch, without a card. When the trial ends, recording stops until you activate a licence. Your History, Voices and settings stay on your Mac either way.
3. Your licence
- A licence is personal: it lets one person use Parlando on up to 3 Macs they own or use themselves, at home and at work.
- Up to 3 activations at a time. Deactivate a Mac you no longer use to free its slot, or write to us if you’re stuck.
- It’s a one-time purchase. It includes every 1.x update for free. A future major version may be a paid upgrade; the version you bought keeps working.
- It is not a subscription and doesn’t expire.
4. What you may not do
- Share your licence key with other people, or sell or rent it.
- Get around the trial or the activation limit.
- Decompile or modify Parlando, except where the law allows it despite this clause.

5. Refunds
If Parlando isn’t right for you, email support@parlando.app within 14 days of buying, with your order email or number. You get a full refund and the licence is deactivated. No reason needed. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.
6. Price and payment
The price is $49 (at launch, $39), plus any VAT or sales tax shown at checkout. Payment is handled by Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the seller of record; its terms of sale apply to the payment itself.
7. Third-party services
Cloud transcription, AI Voices, live text, Command Mode and Ask work through providers you choose, with your own API key. Your use of them is between you and that provider, under its terms and prices. We’re not responsible for their availability, output or charges.
8. Your content
What you dictate is yours. We don’t receive it; see the privacy policy. Check what Parlando writes before you send it: speech recognition and AI rewriting make mistakes.
9. Warranty and liability
We work hard to make Parlando reliable, but it is provided as it is, without a guarantee that it will be free of errors or suit every purpose. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the price you paid. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited by law, including for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
10. Changes and law
We may update these terms for future versions; the terms you accepted when you bought keep covering that purchase. These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without taking away the protection of the consumer laws of the country you live in.
